What's been happening


For those wondering what's been happening these past few days with regards to Wrapturous Adventure, it's generally been a lot of level design - Planning out the level layouts as well as what obstacles and events will happen in them. Not exactly the most exciting thing, but it's of course extremely helpful in thinking about what would and wouldn't work before wasting time developing something that turns out to be useless for the final product.

Working on this has had led me to cross the usual road bumps, like how to make the levels fun and not drag too much. I've also been working on making sure the game features enough variety in booby traps and obstacles. This involved looking into other successful games and after a lot of searching, finally finding a list of obstacles featured. Many of these lists turned out to be much smaller than I expected, which means I was over-scaling on some aspects of the game which directly led to these difficulties. With that realization, I've scaled down on these aspects and in doing so have rethought some things such as what obstacles should be exclusive to certain chambers and which shouldn't. I've also given some thought to changing the theme of one of the chambers to provide more freedom with the kinks and obstacles.

I plan on getting these plans done soon, and when they're in the final draft it'll be back to coding the game. Sorry if this portion of development has been a bother for some of you, but hopefully it'll be done soon and we'll have mostly non-stop updates and news on more exciting stuff afterwards.
